a little bit of history
I recently had the pleasure of scanning some old photos for a family friend. It's wonderful sifting through all the old memories, especially when they are so closely linked to the history of my family.
Once upon a time, my Grandad and his mates raced motorbikes (until my Grandmother put a stop to it). They built their own bikes, Triumphs and Indians, and often raced them on the long beaches in the north of New Zealand. Have you ever seen the movie The Worlds Fastest Indian? Well, it was along those lines, very "home made" bikes (great movie by the way).

Now I just have to spend some time restoring some of the photos, most of them are in pretty bad shape.

more snacks
I thought I'd share a little more from the photo shoot I did recently for the Snack On guys. This is a collection of polaroids I took throughout the afternoon...

I think i might have to go back there for a solo photo adventure...

For the love of all things vintage

This weekend I had the pleasure of spending some quality time (and money) at the Brisbane Vintage Fashion Fair. Opening night was crazy, imagine a school of sharks in the middle of a feeding frenzy and you're pretty close to what it was like being there. Scary. So I went back on Saturday for a much more leisurely and quiet shopping trip.

I picked up some gorgeous vintage slips from Silver Screen Loungerie, it was so hard to pick just a few.
and some lovely vintage dresses...
and I couldn't leave this cute bunny behind.Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Experiments

I had a play with stacking close up filters on
my Mamiya 645, trying to see how close I could get.
The verdict? Close... very close.

Snack On
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of spending and afternoon photo shoot with the talented guys from Snack On. Bijorn, Surya and I climbed some fences and found ourselves on an abandoned wharf. Several rolls of film later, in the fading light, we called it a day... just in time to avoid a visit from the water police.
Here's a little preview of our efforts...
